Asia China Beijing Travel – How to Plan a China Vacation of a Lifetime
Asia China Beijing Travel in 2 weeks? Well, it’s possible to enjoy China and its capital city, Beijing in 14 days without breaking your bank. Due to favorable foreign exchange rates, taking a vacation in China is very affordable if you are from USA (USD1= 7.5 RMB) or Europe (Euro 1= 11 RMB). Let’s look at your possible venues in China… In my opinion, one of the better China tour packages will include these few cities. Asia China Beijing Travel will most certainly include Beijing, Shanghai, Lijiang and Xi'an. As these few cities are different in their characteristics, you get to see the diverse cultures and living habits of the inhabitants. Not forgetting the exotic cusines that each city has to offer to you. My tip for first-timer is to travel with a seasoned tour operator who have experience in accompanying English-speaking tour groups. Why? At times, it can be a culture rude shock when a travel agent brings a group of Westerners to a dog meat restaurant (at times, the dogs are slaughtered then and there at the restaurant) as part of the tour. Let me give a brief introduction of places you may want to visit in China. I will omit Beijing now as you will be reading so much of this wonderful city in this website. So for the rest of China, you have - Shanghai - The most cosmopolitan city in China is Shanghai and it does remind me of being in Hong Kong though on a smaller scale. The city is filled with 21st century skyscrapers and it’s always bustling with activities. The financial district of China is also here. Easy to get whatever you need from home here due to the cosmopolitan nature of the city. Lijiang - Known for its natural beauty and peaceful environment, Lijiang is the perfect romantic city in China. I heard that Lijiang is the place to meet beautiful Chinese girls. My friend was able to hook up a girl on his first day there. Wow! You can also find a variety of mixed Chinese culture due to the influence of the different minorities. Popular places to visit include the Shilin Stone Forest in Kunming, the Old Town in Lijiang and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Xi'an – Home of the Terracotta Army Warriors, this is the best place for archaeology and history buffs. No digging please. I bought a few replicas of the Warriors and they are great for gifts back home. Xi'an food is also unique. I ate a pastry filled with mutton stew in it…its awesome! Besides the Terracotta Army Warriors, you must visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda known to be a well preserved ancient and holy place for Buddhist monks. Well, there are more information to share about China. Just give me more time and I will share them with you in the very near future.
