Beijing Carpet Shops – Firstly, I am no Carpet Expert. And I don’t want to pretend that I know them.

However for the sake of my overseas clients who love visiting me here in Beijing, I have to bring them out to have nice time or go shopping for things like carpet.

And that’s how I learn about Qian Men Carpet Factory.

Mind you, I do not know there are so many varieties of carpets in Beijing. And they do look beautiful in the basement emporium of Qian Men. For antique carpets lover, they do sell them there too.

Seriously, I do not know why people buy antique carpets. I mean why buy stuff that have been stepped on for years!

My clients did and she was so happy with me for bringing her here.

I got her to sign a contract with me that day after she bought her antique carpet here. So, a tip for deal-makers here – bring your clients here!

As I was decorating my apartment then, I bought myself some rugs from Xinjiang. They cost about 300 RMB each (handmade) and I probably got that discounted price as I brought someone to buy an antique carpet.

There were also other stuff like handmade Tibetan prayer rugs and Mongolian saddle rugs.

Anyway, if you’re looking for more affordable Tibetan carpets and rugs (usually of lower quality but much cheaper), you can try Beijing Flea Market and haggle you way.

For those who already own carpets and rugs, you can bring them here for cleaning and repair. I guess tying back some loose knots is one’s idea of carpet repairing, he he!
