Beijing Opera, mostly known as Peking Opera, is a purely Chinese opera form, which dates back to the year 1790. That year, four local opera troupes of Anhui Province came to Beijing on a performance tour on the order of the imperial court.

The 1.5 hour Peking Opera is full of Chinese cultural facts, the opera presents to the audience an encyclopedia of Chinese culture as well as unfolding stories, beautiful paintings, exquisite costumes, graceful gestures and acrobatic fighting.

The costumes in Peking opera are graceful, magnificent, elegant and brilliant, most of which are made in handicraft embroidery. As the traditional Chinese patterns are adopted, the costumes are of a high aesthetic value.

The theatre has collected a group of the best Kung Fu practitioners in China and invited the best directors and designers of the country. The Legend of Kung Fu follows the story of a young boy found wandering outside an ancient temple. Like every boy in China, he dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master. On the road to enlightenment the young monk encounters many difficulties and temptations.

The show has English subtitles shown above the stage to keep you informed of the story line. The actors do not speak and the show is all Kung Fu, dance and acrobatics. It is the fusion of modern dance with Chinese traditional arts which make this performance unique and spectacular.

Beijing Chinese Cultural Shows - Third Sister Liu Impression in Yangshuo

Natural theatre is located at the joining point of Lijiang River and Tianjia River. This 65 minutes performance regards the Impression Sanjie Liu as the general theme, and creatively combines the classical Sanjie Liu's songs, ethnic groups' culture and the fishing lights together, to reflect the harmonious atmosphere between human beings and the nature.

All performers are local, mostly from Zhuang and Yao background and more than 600 people play on the performance.

It has the biggest natural stage in the world and is built in the Li River, which stretches for 2 kilometer's long with 12 mountain peaks as its background. It is the first of its kind in the world.
