Beijing Disco – GT Banana

Beijing DiscoDJ Wildchild at your Service!

Today, I’ll be talking about one of my favorite Beijing disco – GT Banana!

Why is it my favorite?

Well, firstly, LOADS OF GIRLS everywhere at GT Banana. And they are HOT! Girls in Beijing can really dress (or undress) to kill. Mini-skirts were everywhere and it was a serious feast for the eyes.

Not to forget, at GT Banana, there are dancers in cages, sexy waitresses and top-notched techno-pop. Though, I have to warn you that at times, they do play the cheesiest techno but what the heck, I do enjoy dancing to "Barbie Girl" once in a while too!

For those of you who are not into techno, you can head up to the Spicy Lounge upstairs for some funk, house and acid jazz to chill out.

Or when you get lucky with someone and want a little privacy.

This happens to me way too often. I hope.

There are also KTV room with either modern or 19th century salon interiors—features a song selecting computer, large-screen TV, couches and etc.

But who really cares as I am usually in the KTV room to smooch a girl in total privacy. Well, I know many people book the KTVroom at GT Banana for that reason. Oops!

Just last few months, I came all the way from Shanghai just to party at GT Banana.

Why?

Besides visiting my mate (the webmaster of Beijing-China-Guide.com & his "lovely" wife), I came to Beijing just to watch DJ Tiesto do his DJ set in GT Banana.

Who is DJ Tiesto? I heard some of you murmuring…

Well, nut-heads, he's one of the best DJ in the world!

And he holds many records such as the only DJ who had ever played at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens, During 2002-2004.

Secondly, he is probably the only DJ who has cooperated with the famous sport brand Reebok to launch limited version gym shoes bearing his name.

Not forgetting, being honored the TOP DJ 3 years in a row by DJ Mag.

And on April 4, 2008, Tiesto played a brilliant set in GT Banana and the crowds were really moving to his beats. It was an absolute BANG GOES THE DRUM night and one of my best party experiences in China.

Thanks to Tiesto, I also hooked up with a young Beijing girl who happens to be a trance music lover and we did move up to the Spicy lounge later for…….

What’s the damage at GT Banana?

Cover charge runs RMB 20 (RMB 30 for entry to all three sections) during the week and RMB 40 (RMB 50 for all three sections) on the weekend.

The prices do not apply when you have special guest DJs.

For those of you who were not in GT Banana on 4th April 2008, a video clip for your enjoyment.
