Beijing Jazz Club – Autumn in Paris! This stylish jazz club looks pretty much like a Parisian jazz club. Most European patrons love the whole atmosphere as it is relaxed and cool at the same time. The club has managed to successfully re-create the 'classic' environment of a smoky, dimly-lit, back-alley club in Europe. In addition, the club is also filled with jazz memorabilia and that adds to the whole look and feel to the place. Foreign & Local Acts One of the best things about Beijing CD Jazz Cafe is that it invites both local and overseas talent to perform there. Jamming sessions are regular, but only if you proved to the crowd that you can really play jazz. Be prepared to be booed off the stage! However, as compared to East Shore Jazz Club, the jazz music tends to be more commercialized – you can still listen to Dave Koz and Kenny G here! Thus, I tend to bring my non-jazz music lover friends here rather than East Shore which is more suitable for true blue jazz aficionados. Hence, this place is also good for dating as the music is less obtrusive to non-jazz lover. There's always a time and a place for it. Note: The Beijing CD Jazz Club usually charges about 30 RMB cover charge on Fri-Sun, especially for touring acts. Address: East Third Ring Road, just south of the Agricultural Exhibition Center. Tel: (86-10) 6501- 8877, ext. 6156. Opening Hours: Friday and Saturday, 9: 30 pm-1:30 am
