Beijing Romantic Restaurants – Pass the SALT, please!
Beijing Romantic Restaurants – If you have been living in Beijingand is a food connoisseur, you would have heard of Gaby Alves and hisaward-winning restaurant, Alameda (Gaby was the ex-owner and manager ofthis restaurant in Beijing). So, what’s Gaby up to? Well, a new restaurant project, (well, not so new – November 28th 2007 to be exact) of course! And it is none other than the very hip and delicately named contemporary cuisine restaurant - SALT. And it is my choice as one of the Best Beijing Romantic Restaurants! Why is SALT the most happening restaurant in Beijing now? The reasons are aplenty! Let’s start with my favorite aphrodisiac in Beijing besides Ginseng - the rich warm Chocolate Souffle with molten white chocolate center was HEAVENLY!
I have never tasted one that good in my life and I have often tasted top-notched desserts all over Europe! One of my dates actually said that it was better than SEX! I actually agreed with her! Chinese Girls love Chocolate Souffle And they TOTALLY love me for bringing them to SALT for that reason. You call this Romantic? Call it whatever you like! My dates appreciate my choice of restaurant and desserts. It shows that I have taste and I can provide her the good things in life! What else at SALT? - Great Contemporary Cuisine – 1. Rocket and Watercress Salad, with Parmesan shavings and Modena vinegar 2. Tender Pork Loin with Rosemary-Guava Sauce (ooh la la!) and Sauteed Zucchini I’m getting hungry now… - Exotic Wine List – How about some Argentinean Reds and Chilean Whites? - Ambience – Very Romantic…Sexy would be more apt! The decor is warm and unpretentious with deep grey and black colors all over. There is also an open kitchen (seating five or six) that provides seats to view the Master Chef at work. Believe it or not, you can even chat with the Chef while he is cooking! At times, I have to stop the Chef from hitting on my scantily-clad dates. I don’t blame him but I’ll be careful of the Chef! - Exceptional Customer Service – The waiters at The Courtyard in Beijing (another well-known restaurant that I would not recommend) should seriously learn about customer service from the guys here at SALT. They know their food/wine list most of the time and they don’t intrude your privacy unnecessarily. And that’s romantic for me when I am flirting with my date! - Value for Money - Try having the same meal and quality at this prices back home! Nowhere in Singapore will give me the same value-for-money experiences I have had at SALT. Never! For those on a budget, SALT also offers: 1. Two set lunches: two courses for RMB 78 or three courses for RMB 98. 2. Two set dinners: two courses at RMB 148 and three courses for RMB 168. The only disadvantage of SALT is the small dining room that makes getting a table so difficult whenever I don’t make a reservation beforehand. Well, it happens to all good things. Everyone wants them! Without saying, I will continue to bring my dates to SALT. Usually I will bring my date on my 2nd and 3rd dates with her. Not on first date though. The Vineyard Cafe will be the best First Date Romantic Restaurant as you may already have read.
