Beijing Speed Dating – Attached in 60 Seconds!

Beijing Speed Dating – I am Dr. Love and I have been asked to introduce the concept of Speed Dating, which is slowly gaining popularity in Beijing.

What’s Speed Dating?

Is Speed Dating the response from your date when she sees you for the first time? Like running away from you as fast as possible?

Losers!

Well, it’s not and if it is, you losers will do fine in that area!

So, what’s Speed Dating?

In Speed Dating, an equal number of men and women are gathered in one room where each and every participant is expected to interact with a person of the opposite sex.

Usually it is an even number of say 10 guys, 10 ladies. Why it’s referred to as speed dating is because it utilizes the resource of time to meet as many potential mates.

Rules for Beijing Speed Dating

In order to gain from Beijing Speed Dating Sessions, one has to play by the rules of the house. With a roomful of about 20 guys/gals, there must be some rules to ensure order and fairness in Speed Dating. Or else, chaos can happen!

What are the rules? Read on…

  • Every guy must meet every gal, and vice versa during the session. There is no such thing as a refusal to chat with a particular person during the session. Thus, the Speed Dating session is usually conducted with an equal number of guys and gals.
  • Each two individuals interact in a given allocation of time. You are not allowed to exceed the time given for each meeting. So, please obey the bell which acts as the signal. If the agreed time is five minutes, you should move to the next participant (of the opposite sex, of course!) at the sound of the bell.
  • To carry out a genuine exercise, you are not allowed to exchange contacts during the meeting of each participant. This discourages some people from stopping on the third or second person he/she meets in a session. If the contacts were to be exchanged, people might hastily settle for a second person and leave. Thus, in all properly-run Speed Dating sessions, contacts are withheld until the end of the session.
  • When every single person has interacted with all the participants, another stage comes in. You can then nominate the numbers you liked best. Let’s say you liked participant number ten and you are participant number four. If number ten nominates number four – a Perfect Match and both of you can then exchange contacts with one another.

So guys and gals, it’s important to jot down some questions to help you manage your time. Start by asking the important questions first and listen.

More importantly, do not make a fast judgment just because someone looks like Liv Tyler. Make sure that both of you have some chemistry too as it’s not much point if you pick her, and she doesn’t.

This happens often, so brace yourself for that slight disappointment. Whatever happens, you did not waste much time.

All the best to your Beijing Speed Dating!

Signing off,

Dr. Love
