Beijing Summer Palace – I guess those of you who have entered this page from Google search was taken aback by my description “Why I will not visit the Palace?”
Of course, it is a marketing gimmick!
Sorry about that, but if not, you will be missing a great deal on what Summer Palace can really offer to you.
Today, I have opted for a different way to show you the good and bad of Beijing Summer Palace.
I will be gathering feedbacks from people who have visited the Summer Palace to give you a more balanced view.

Lets’ start with a brief introduction
The Summer Palace is about 800-YEAR-OLD and was used as a summer residence by Chinese Emperors.
Basically, it was a summer retreat from the main imperial palace now known as Forbidden City.
Even the Emperors have their own Fort Lauderdale to have fun under the sun!
Within the Summer Palace, you will be able to view many traditional Chinese gardens that used rocks, plants, pavilions, ponds, cobble paths to create a calming effect.
But you have to see it to believe how nice the gardens are!
