One of the Best Beijing Hotels near Tiananmen – Take a Walk to the Square

Beijing Hotel is rated as one of the best Beijing hotels. Why?

Firstly, the hotel is strategically located in the downtown Beijing, adjacent to the Chang An Avenue and Wangfujing Street. From the hotel, Tiananmen Square is only a five-minute walk so there is no need to take a taxi.

Now, you know why I pick this hotel as the best in the “ Proximity to Tiananmen Square” category.

Secondly, you are also able to see the view of the Forbidden City, the old name of Beijing.

In addition, the hotel boasts of 900 spacious and luxurious guest rooms carefully designed to fit every visitor's taste.

Best of all, if you are a food connoisseur, Beijing Hotel has an excellent reputation when it comes to very top-notched food. You will be spoilt for choice as the hotel has restaurants catering Sichuan, Cantonese, Huaiyang, and Tanjia cuisine as well as Western and Japanese food.

Last year in 2007, I brought my Oz friends out for Sichuan food at one of the hotel’s Chinese restaurants and it was unforgettable for them. Well, the soup was really spicy and “ma” (in China, they called it “ma” which means “to numb your taste buds”) and my mates were drowning themselves with bottles of Tsingtao Beer (one of the top local brews) just to stay alive.

You can see their eyes tearing but they kept on eating with renewed vigor after numerous gulps of beer. At the end of it, they said it was one of the most challenging meals they have ever had in their life.

Does that mean the food is good? You have to try it to know!
