Getting to Beijing –When I first flew in from Singapore to Beijing in year 2002, I was pretty disappointed. It took me a long time to get through the whole process and I wasted loads of time at the airport.

Worse still for me, the airport was really a pale shadow of what I am used to experiencing at Singapore’s Changi International Airport.

Changi Airport is voted One of the Best Airport in the World. I am really proud to be a Singaporean!

In year 2008, things have improved considerably during this few years at the Beijing Capital International Airport (though still nowhere near Singapore). Overall, traveling to Beijing has also improved quite tremendously whether it is by Air, Train, Car or Buses.

This is due to the very fact that Beijing will be hosting the Olympics 2008 and the Chinese government has made every effort to ensure that China will not “LOSE FACE” during the Olympics 2008 to the outside world.

And thanks to the Olympics 2008, tourists like you and me can enjoy more of the beautiful sights and sounds of the City with less traveling hassle.

However, this does not mean that traveling to Beijing is a wonderful and stress-free experience now.

Far from that!

All I am saying is getting to Beijing is more convenient compared to previous years. So, be forewarned that you will still undergo waiting long hours at the airport and train station, and more. So, please brace yourself for the unforeseen in traveling to Beijing.
