Muslim Restaurants Beijing – My Middle-Eastern Dream Come True!
Muslim Restaurants Beijing – For my business, I have guests from Singapore and Malaysia. Some of them are Muslims and whenever they are here, I have to respect their religious culture and eat at only Muslim restaurants. This is fine with me as there are quite a few very nice Muslim restaurants in Beijing.
There is however one particular Muslim restaurant that I bring most of my guests to, whether they are Muslim or not. It is so cool and refreshing that my guests always ask me to bring them there again.
What’s the name of this ultra-special restaurant?
Well, it’s none other than Afunti Uighur Restaurant!
Afunti is one of the best Muslim Restaurants Beijing to have good kebab and beer (in Singapore, our Muslimrestaurants do not permit alcohol but in Beijing, no such ruleapplies).
You must be thinking that there are countless of restaurants selling kebabs and beer all over Beijing. You’re right.
However, it is only at Afunti where you see exotic belly dancing. Better still, you can dance with her after the meal!
Truly, the main reason for going to Afunti is to await the performance of a slim Uighur woman to appear on stage in an exotic costume. Believe it or not, she comes with a snake wrapped round her neck to perform a stunning Arabian Night dance!
After this sexy diva’s belly dance, she will invite the patrons (yes, you and me!) to start dancing with her. Most people usually join in for the fun.
The crowd goes wild at this time (even though it could be their second or third time here, I am one of them!) and cheers her. The mood of the restaurant just changes in that split second.
You can see almost everyone smiling from ear to ear and it’s amazing! Even my dullest of clients start tapping to the rhythm and soon enough, most of them will start to get up and dance. I do too and I am a very shy kind of guy!
This is why Afunti is not just a restaurant for me. This is the place where my clients and I break the ice most of the time. And usually after eating (and dancing at Afunti), we will adjourn to other discotheques in town for more fun.
Since, this is a restaurant review, I must talk at least something about the food. To me, the food at Afunti is good but may be expensive compared to other kebab places. But, remember, you pay for the great ambience and the beautiful belly dance.
Usually, I stick to the set meal at about 100 RMB per person. This usually includes Middle Eastern pasta (they called it “La Mian”) in tomato sauce, roast lamb on skewers seasoned perfectly, fruit platters, fish, pita bread, and more.
For 100 RMB, it’s worth the meal and more!
For those who are planning to visit Beijing, please make sure you visit this Muslim Restaurant. Who knows, we may bump into each other there!
See you there!
